This morning I woke up before 8 am again which is becoming a routine. But I only got a few hours of sleep. So, I finished my Sunday morning music video and headed back to bed around 10:30.
I only slept for a solid hour or so, but in that hour, I had the weirdest dreams! So many of them! No wonder I wake up so tired. Sometimes I feel like I astral project into another time or place.
The first dream took place in my dad’s house. My brother was living in the basement and he was crying. Which – we don’t live there anymore. We sold the house. Then my younger sister came over and we decided to go on a trip together.
Next thing I know, we are on this crazy train ride. It was pitch black outside and everything around us was a dark dusty red. I heard the announcer say, “It’s going to be a bumpy ride. Please be very quiet and make sure your seatbelts are fastened. Hold onto the railings for added support. We are approaching the tracks to get to your hotel.”
I looked out the window and saw red sand all around us – like you see in the Rover pictures from Mars! We were on Mars! The train turned into this mine or roller coaster ride. The tracks were wobbly. But the train was super fast and loud.
Everyone on the train sat very still and was very quiet. I held onto my sister who was much younger in my dream than she is now. She was crying silently. I held onto my camera bag – which is all I seemed to have with me. And my orange – exercise ball? Really?
There were orange exercise balls all over that train.
I watched as the dark black sky loomed over us. There was nothing to see for landscaping except for dark shadows of what may have been mountains or dunes. Kind of like in Mad Max. The 80’s movie. Not the remake.
We finally arrived at our destination. We climbed out of the train and landed softly on the ground which was red sand and hard rock. There was gravity though. We could walk normally.
I looked around us and gasped. What a sight to be seen. There were mountains in the distance. And I could see a sliver of the earth from where we landed. I reached for my camera. My sister reached for hers. We argued over who would get the best shot of home.

Then it came time to leave and get ready to move to our hotel. I couldn’t find my orange exercise ball. I picked up one and accidentally deflated it. I nearly cried. I dropped it and grabbed my sister.
There was a large group of men – or aliens? approaching with guns. They did not look friendly. I pulled my sister behind a wall. And suddenly, one guy in our group was handing out guns to everyone.
My sister grabbed a AK-47 – my ex’s choice (he was military) and she knew what she was doing. I was handed a small pistol and thought, “how is this going to save me from the aliens?”
We started shooting and then whammo.
We were sitting at a long table – it was dinner time. My dream had shifted into another scene. Bryan Cranston from Malcolm in the Middle was there. Aaron Paul too. You see, I had just finished watching Breaking Bad and El Camino this past week.
I was apparently there to shoot a scene with Bryan. And I got to meet him and shake his hand. He gave me a present.
But before I could see what it was – I woke up.
And now all I can think about is – who were those masked men shooting at us? And what the hell did Bryan Cranston give me?

Nope, I didn’t do a bunch of drugs before laying down. Maybe it was the iced coffee though.
Dreams are fucking weird.
I texted my sister to relay this all to her. And finished with Happy Sunday! She probably thinks I’m out of my mind. It’s true. Isolation finally broke me.
Happy Sunday!
